greatly increase the susceptibility of such materials to brittle fracture [1].

When analysing the mechanical properties and evaluating the deformation and [[Fracture Behaviour | fracture behaviour]], the combination of the microscopic and macroscopic approach van achieve decisive progress with regard to the clarification of damage mechanisms.
