The application of methods for experimentally determining fatigue behaviour (see: [[Fatigue|fatigue]]) is not limited to the standardised test [[Specimen|specimen]] shapes according to DIN 53442. In accordance with the standard, test [[Specimen|specimen]] with the dimensions shown in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Fig. 1a&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; are used. The thickness &amp;#039;&amp;#039;h&amp;#039;&amp;#039; of the test [[Specimen|specimen]] may be between 2 and 8 mm, with 4 mm thick test [[Specimen|specimen]] being preferable. In addition to the standardised test [[Specimen|specimen]] shapes, strip test specimens, various shapes of shoulder bars and compact test [[Specimen|specimen]] can also be used (see &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Fig. 1b&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;).&lt;br /&gt;
